"My buddies call me Bebo. I've been metal detecting for 3 years, and since I bought my Shadow X5, it's opened up a new world for me. I relic hunt in Appomattox, VA, near my home of Lynchburg, VA. I use the Shadow X5 because of its depth, light weight, it is simple to use, weatherproof, uses only one 9 volt battery, and the customer service is great! Here are some of the finds I've made. Enjoy! - Bebo"

Met up with Tony today in hope of finding some more relics. After a couple of hours with just a few shot bullets in our pouch I was going to another field and hit a deep big iron signal. After 3 feet down I exposed half of a cannon ball. I called Tony over the raido so we could both be there to witness the find together. After we got it out we covered the hole and started getting big iron signals everywhere. I dug another one real quick and told Tony we would just sit one machine down and take turns digging and spliting them. We got 20 all together and there are still more there. I dont know yet what kind they are but they do have fuses and I beleive they are Confederate. HH!!!

GOLD in that Appomattox Red Clay !!!!

Posted By: "DOC" in the C.S.A.

Bebo stopped by and picked me up this morning and we headed off to Appomattox to continue hunting a site where we had hunted a few times before. The soil is fairly mineralized, in other words HOT !! I had FINALLY "one-upped" Bebo on dug bullets and he digs this !!

Its a beauty !! Even when it was still mostly covered in wet, red, clay, the Gold shone in the sunshine, beautifully, after having been in the darkness all those years !
A 1861 Coronet Type Half-Eagle (5$) in what I believe to be either VF20 or maybe even EF40 condition. This is the "first" Gold coin for Bebo !( I dont have one...boo-hoo)

The temptation to rub the remaining dirt off was getting to us both, so we packed up and headed to my house.I put the coin in the jewelry bath and it cleaned up magnificently !!Congrats Bebo and a BIG thanks to Troy from us both for supplying us with these EXCELLENT machines!! X-5 Does It Again !!!!....Hope everyone finds something great and Happy New Year to all !!........... From "Doc" and Bebo
